JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

• Leading and monitoring the progress of tax and compilation engagements (NTR/CER).
• Coaching junior staff on tax assignments.
• Build effective working relationships with client contacts.
• Understanding client’s tax needs and applying experience and knowledge in preparing filings and providing advice/tax planning strategies.
• Prepare and review corporation tax returns (T2).
• Prepare and review personal tax returns (T1), Non-resident returns and respond to CRA inquiries.
• Prepare and review T3 Trust Returns.
• Conducting tax research and tax planning.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client meetings and daily interactions.
• Self-motivated and organized with effective working style.
• The ability to prioritize workloads, manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• CPA designation (2+ years).
• In-depth tax course Level I, II, and III an asset.
• Exposure to reorganizations and special tax credits.
• Prior T1, T2, T3 preparation experience (3+years).
• Accounting Firm/Tax Accounting Experience: 2+ years (minimum) post designation.
• Overseeing tax engagements from start to finish 2+ years.

SOFTWARE EXPERTISE:

• Tax preparation software (Cantax suite and/or Taxprep)
• Caseware/Caseview
• Quickbooks
• Microsoft Excel experience is required
